Every two years we look forward to engaging with colleagues from around the globe at the World Congress for Hair Research.
Over the past few weeks, we have been closely monitoring the COVID-19 situation. Considering the developments over the course of this year and advice from the Australian Tourism Minister, Australian Federal Government and the Federation of International Hair Society Board, the 2021 Local Organising Committee has concluded, with regret, that the WCHR 2021 will be postponed. Federal Governments, hospitals, universities, and companies implementing travel bans on their staff has resulted in much of the delegation being unable to attend.
The Congress will now be held at the same venue, the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, from Friday 22 April through to Monday 25 April 2022.
The Local Organising Committee is committed to ensuring the health and safety of our speakers, sponsors, exhibitors, delegates and all stakeholders due to the increasing circumstances around the world.
While we have a fantastic line-up of international and national speakers, current travel restrictions are undoubtedly impacting on their attendance, as well as delegate engagement. We recognise all the hard work that so many of you have already put into preparing your presentations and travel for WCHR 2021 and hope you will be able to join us in 2022.
If you have registered for the Congress, or are a presenter, sponsor, or exhibitor, we will be in contact to discuss options with you.
For options regarding your flights, please contact your travel provider.
Thank you for your understanding and support, and we hope to see you in Melbourne in 2022. To obtain the latest information on COVID-19 please visit https://www.who.int/emergencies/diseases/novel-coronavirus-2019
